Family Resource Centers
Family Resource Centers operate as
independent 501(c)(3) organizations. They work
collaboratively to strengthen families by focusing on
best practices and programs that will increase
effectiveness and benefits of provided services.
Although Family Resource Centers provide similar
programs to low-income families, which includes
family case management, parent education classes,
emergency food, tutoring, etc; each is also unique in
serving a particular neighborhood’s emergent
needs. In coordination with Lucas County Children’s
Services, they have been working to increase
responsible fatherhood within the community by
developing resources and services to fathers and
their families, such as father-specific parenting
classes, referrals to organizations that meet needs
of fathers (legal, substance abuse, employment),
and activities to build father-child relationships.
