GUINNESS WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT

The Guinness World Record Attempt for the Longest Lemonade Stand, Lucas County Rec Center, Toledo, Oh

WHAT: Set the GUINNESS WORLD RECORD FOR THE LONGEST LEMONADE STAND (in the category of “longest
temporary bar”). Currently, the record is 2,571 ½ ft. (just under a ½ mile)! This attempt will include 1,080 gallons of
lemonade served in 360 three-gallon jugs, and 500 t-shirts.

WHY: In order to raise awareness of children with cancer, all of the proceeds will go to The Bake-A-Difference
Foundation for Childhood Cancer (local organization that works locally with Toledo Children’s Hospital) and Alex’s
Lemonade Stand Foundation (National organization working on finding a cure).

WHEN: Saturday, June 11, 2011 from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM

WHERE: Lucas County Rec Center’s Walking Path

ATTENDANCE: Estimated 3,000-5,000 people in attendance that day (our event and a big softball tournament)!

MEDIA COVERAGE (Total Value $75,000+): All media partners will promote the event on their Facebook pages,
Twitter accounts, and through email blasts. Additionally, the following partner will provide the following:

Fox Toledo is running news stories the six weeks prior to the event as well as providing commercials that
include the top three event sponsors.
CUMULUS Toledo is streaming PSAs starting April 15 and then is running more than 400 commercials on 93.5
WRQN, 94.5 XKR, K100, and Star 105.5 between May 15 and June 11, 2011.
YES FM is streaming PSAs starting April 15 and will promote the event using up to three live interviews on their
morning show.
TOLEDO FREE PRESS/MAUMEE MIRROR is running periodic stories and press releases that highlight the
event as well as offering special advertising rates for event sponsors.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: Your group of 8-10
people (children under age 16 must be accompanied by
an adult) who can help to set a Guinness World record
by volunteering to help serve lemonade and cookies
during the event! Each team will:

Receive up to 10 t-shirts that say “I Helped Set A
Guinness World Record and I All Got Was This Lousy T-
shirt.”

Be responsible for have at least two of your team
members man a 10’ section of the lemonade
stand at all times during the full nine hours
(Guinness requirement).
Be responsible to serve lemonade and cookies
as required.
Help keep their area clean and free from cups
and other trash.
Be required to have fun, fun, fun!

HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED...

VOLUNTEERING INFO

LEMONADE STAND TABLE SPONSORSHIP ($250):
Companies, organizations, and individuals have the
opportunity to sponsor ten-foot sections of the
lemonade stand. This sponsorship includes:

Your name prominently displayed on the front of
the stand;
A certified copy of the Guinness World Records
Certificate (when we officially set the record);
Commemorative photo (of your name on the
lemonade stand) with kids serving lemonade;
Your name on the back of the T-shirts (if
sponsorship paid before May 15, 2011)

POLE MARKERS ($450): 25 Companies,
organizations, and individuals have the opportunity to
sponsor 100’ markers throughout the lemonade stand.
This includes a 10’ section of the stand within that 100’,
additional signs for people to see, and your company
name included on the Lemonade Record Program
(Map) that encourages people to walk the ½ mile.

STARTING AND FINISH LINE SPONSORSHIP
($1,750): Three companies, organizations, or
individuals have the opportunity to sponsor the starting
and finish lines, which includes company name on
Lemonade banner, TV commercials, radio ads, and
print media. Plus, everything identified in the above

The First 500 Volunteers Will
