| Today, they are still very much alike. All have a passion for helping others. All will celebrate three years of volunteer service for their non profit. And as it turns out, all work for the same company. But there is a difference. Less than half feel appreciated by their non profit and are still enthusiastic about volunteering. | The traditional method of holding volunteer appreciation events has been shown to be less effective for 3 reasons: participation, cost and impact. First, Participation: If for example, your organization has 100 volunteers and because of people’s schedules and other commitments, 50 people attend your volunteer appreciation event; this might be considered a success, but that still leaves half of your volunteers unrecognized!
